Day 1: Arrive at Gonggar airport. Transfer to Lhasa

The flights to Gonggar Airport, Lhasa are easily available from various mainland cities (Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, etc.,) in China. Arrive at Gonggar Airport where the professional guide welcomes you. Then, transfers you to hotels in Lhasa via a private vehicle. Enjoy a scenic ride 1.5-2 hour ride. Upon arriving at the hotel, rest and relax. The elevation of Lhasa is high, so we suggest you acclimatize properly and adjust to the surroundings. Wear comfortable warm clothes, keep yourself hydrated, and eat healthy but light.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Lhasa (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Bazaar)

The second day in Lhasa commences with sightseeing of UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites after breakfast. Make sure to wear appropriate clothes while visiting these sites. Explore the majestic landmarks of the grand Potala Palace and its aesthetic architecture. The most popular Buddhist temple of Jokhang is a spiritual center for Tibetans. Jokhang temple with its bronze roof, statues of golden deer, and the gold statue of Jowo Rinpoche is mesmerizing. Barkhor Street in the vicinity is popular for buying Tibetan original goods and crafts. Optional: In the evening, attend the Tibetan Family Kitchen class between 4:30 pm to 8 pm. Here, shop the groceries, prepare Tibetan authentic dishes, dine, and enjoy with family and friends. (After tour, we will take a group to the Tibetan Family Kitchen class. Dinner and Tibetan Traditional clothes with Tibetan family)

Day 3: Sightseeing of Drepung, Sera Monasteries & Norbulingka Palace

The third day in Lhasa starts with a tour of the UNESCO-listed World Heritage sites of Norbulingka Palace. The Palace which was built in 1755 is a perfect blend of Tibetan and Western cultures. Next, head to Drepung Monastery which was founded in 1416. It is one of the three largest monasteries of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism. In the evening, visit Sera Monastery which holds scriptures written with golden powder. Debate sessions between 3-5 pm in the courtyard are the major highlights. Optional: After dinner, attend Princess Wencheng Live Drama which is a grand show displaying the historical and cultural ties between the Tubo and Tang dynasties. The drama, music, and dances with modern choreography performed by 700 performers wearing traditional customs are magical and not to be missed. In the end, you can take pictures with the actors playing the princess and the King. (After Dinner take the group to see The Big live drama Princess Wencheng)

Day 4: Drive to Shigatse via Lake Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse Visit Kumbum Monastery, Pelkor Chöde Monastery, and drive to Shigatse

Drive to Shigatse after breakfast from Lhasa. Pass Gampala Pass (4,790m) and explore the beautiful clear blue freshwater Yamdrok Lake. It is one of the largest of the Great Three Sacred Lakes in Tibet. Then, pass Simila Pass (4,200m) and head to Gyantse. En route get a sight of the huge Karola Glacier. Visit the Buddhist Pelkor Chöde Monastery famous for its multi-storied Kumbum, which is one of the largest such structures in Tibet. Take a tour of the Kumbum Monastery, popular for its infinite tiny chapels, intricate murals, and architectural style. Continue to drive to Shigatse.

Day 5: Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, and drive to Shegar

After breakfast, visit 15th century Tashilhunpo Monastery which is one of the largest monasteries in Tibet. It houses one of the largest statues of the Maitreya Buddha. Then, drive to Shegar (New Tingri) and transfer to the 3-star hotel having basic but comfortable facilities. Take proper acclimatization rest as the following day, you are traveling to Rongbuk/ Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5200 meters above sea level. Note: We recommend to say at Shegar because Rongbuk has only one guesthouse, and only tents are a means of accommodation with an outside toilet.

Day 6: Early morning drive to Rongbuk (Everest base camp), and drive back to Shigatse.

Early morning drive to Rongbuk to witness the amazing sunrise views over snow-covered mountains. Rongbuk Monastery is one of the world’s highest-elevation monasteries at an elevation of 5,009 m. Tibetans called Everest as Mt. Qomolangma. From Rongbuk, relish the northern glory of Royal Mt. Everest and other surroundings. We advise travelers to walk slowly due to the gaining of high elevation. Also, make sure to wear warm clothes. After an awesome exploration, drive back to Shigatse.

Day 7: Drive to Namtso Lake (Damxung Town)

After breakfast, drive to Damxung Town near Namtso Lake. Enjoy the scenic ride and reach Damxung town after some hours. Namtso is a town with limited facilities and Damxung town has a better accommodation facility. Transfer to the hotel, take a rest, and adjust to the surroundings.

Day 8: Drive Namtso Lake to Lhasa

In the morning, head to the second-largest salt Namtso Lake in China. Adore the stunning view of Mt. Nyainqêntanglha from the vicinity of this crystal clear lake. Tibetans consider this lake holy and you can witness numerous pilgrims here. After a short tour, drive back to Lhasa.

Day 9: Drive to the airport and fly to Kathmandu, Short tour of Kathmandu (Pashupati & Boudha Stupa)

Drive to the airport for the next tour destination, Nepal. Upon arriving at the Kathmandu airport, our tour guide welcomes you. Take a short tour of two wonderful UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Pashupatinath is one of the major Hindu temples in Nepal that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. From there, move to Boudhanath, which is one of the biggest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. The aura of these places is enchanting.

Day 10: Kathmandu sightseeing (Swoyambhunath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Changunarayan

Start the day with sightseeing at World Heritage-listed destinations. In the morning, drive to the hilltop Swayambhunath Stupa also popular as ‘Monkey Temple’. Admire the stunning valley views and mountains from the top. Afterward, drive to an architecturally impressive Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This ancient town has numerous historic and cultural attractions which are artistically phenomenal. Have some snacks or lunch and drive to Changu Narayan temple, one of the oldest heritage sites of Nepal. The wood and stone carvings are very impressive. Attend the art-rich session here.

Day 11: Fly to Pokhara and Pokhara sightseeing (Boating, Cave, Davis Falls; Optional paragliding, Hot air balloon, etc.)

Take a short scenic flight to Pokhara. The tourist hub Pokhara is packed with amazing destinations for sightseeing such as Davis Falls, Seti Gorge, Mountain Museum, Gupteshower Cave, Lakeside, and Boating on Phewa Lake. There are also optional adventure activities like Paragliding, Hot Air Balloon ride, etc. Note: Travelers who enjoy nature can choose a tourist bus ride to enjoy the scenic views. Which takes about 6-7 hours.

Day 12: Sarangkot Sunrise tour and drive/fly to Chitwan

Wake up early to witness the marvelous sunrise views over snowy mountains from the Sarangkot viewpoint. Adore the breathtaking views of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, etc. Back to the hotel for breakfast. We recommend at least one highway drive to get a sight of natural sceneries. Take a scenic ride to Chitwan which takes 4-5 hours admiring the terraced fields, hillsides, mountains, and small villages. Transfer to the resort upon arriving for an overnight stay. Note: Travelers can choose to fly if they don’t prefer to travel by road.

Day 13: Chitwan National Park Tour with Jungle Safari

Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal that is also listed as a World Heritage Site. Jungle Safari commences as your preference either by Jeep or Elephant, and walking. It is a fun activity for travelers to carry in the vicinity of diverse flora and fauna. Start the Safari in the morning and get glimpses of wild animals such as deer, one-horned Rhinoceros, Gharial, etc., diverse species of birds, and plants. If lucky get a chance to get a sight of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Sit at the bank of the river and spend some quality relishing the sunset views. After completing the Safari, explore the traditional Tharu village in the surroundings and learn something about their culture and lifestyle.

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu, Tour around Thamel and Ason Market

In the morning, enjoy bird-watching where you witness varied species of birds. Drive to the airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Take a rest at the hotel. The day is free to spend on your own. Rongbuk Monastery (Everest Base Camp)

Rongbuk Monastery (5,009m) which was built in 1902 is one of the highest-situated monasteries close to the Northern Everest Base Camp. Adore the northern face of Mt. Everest and a great sunrise view over the mountains is enchanting. Rongbuk is a stopover destination for travelers to get an amazing sight of glorious Mt. Everest. Travelers with limited time and finding it difficult to trek to the Everest Base Camp can relish the awesome up-close views of Everest and surrounding peaks from here. We suggest travelers get prepared for cold temperatures, high altitudes, and limited amenities.

Namtso Lake, Tibet

The second-largest salt lake in China Namtso translates as 'The Heavenly' in the Tibetan Language. At an elevation of 4,718 meters, it expands to more than 1,900 sq. km of area. Namtso Lake was also a practicing spot of Estoric Buddhism in the early 2nd century. It is believed that walking and pattering around this lake only once a year is very sacred and fruitful. Thus, this crystal clear lake is considered holy, and numerous pilgrims visit this lake to admire nature and share their dedication and spirituality.

Pokhara, Nepal

Pokhara is a tourist hub of Nepal popular for its natural scenery, snow-mountain vistas, sunrise views, lakeside, and adventurous activities like boating, paragliding, hot air balloon rides, etc. The place is a perfect blend of culture and nature attracting numerous travelers annually. Chitwan National Park

Kathmandu Valley is comprised of 3 districts Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. In the year 1979, Kathmandu Valley was bestowed the status of a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Lhasa, Tibet

The administrative capital of Tibet, Lhasa is nestled at an elevation of 3,656 m. It is one of the highest-elevated cities in the world. Lhasa has numerous landmarks including UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites. Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka Palace, and Barkhor Street are prime attractions.

Shigatse, Tibet

Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet is China’s prefecture-level city. It is officially known as Xigazê located at the confluence of Yarlung Tsangpo and Nyainchu River. The world’s largest gilded Qamba Buddha bronze statue in Tashilhunpo Monastery and Chinese and Tibetan architectural styles in Shalu Monastery are prime attractions in Shigatse.

Gyantse, Tibet

The third largest city Gyantse in Tibet lies in the Nyang Chu Valley surrounded by vast farms. Pelkor Chöde Monastery, Gyantse Kumbum, and Yamdrok Lake are beautiful phenomena to explore in Gyantse. The multi-storied Kumbum is the largest stupa in Tibet. Yamdrok is a freshwater sacred lake. The Pelkor Chöde Monastery is a combination of Han, Tibetan, and Nepali architecture.

High season (Best Time) May to September months are the high seasons in Tibet with an average temperature ranging between 6°C to 23°C. The weather is mild and warm during May, summer rains in June, occasional rains in August, and pleasant and cool weather in September. Shoulder season (Good Time) April, October, and November months are shoulder seasons in Tibet with cool, dry, and pleasant weather. The average temperature ranges between -2°C to 17°C in April and October and -7°C to 12°C in November. Low or Off-season (Average Time) December to January months are low or off-season in Tibet where the temperature ranges between -12°C to 14°C. The day's weather gets colder and at night, the weather gets very colder and experiences snowfalls. But the sky is cleareroffering awesome scenic beauty. (Note: In the months of February and March, Tibet is closed to foreign tourists.)
